Education:
B.A. from Bristol University, England
MLS in information science, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel
Positions Held:
1982-1990: Head of Technical Services and VAX/VMS Systems Manager for the
Technion (Israel Institute of Technology) Library System.
1990-1995: In charge of database provision and networking, and Internet services, for
the Technion Library System.
In April 1995 I left the Israel Institute of Technology to pursue a
full-time career as an independent information specialist and consultant.
Information Searching Experience
Most of my clients like their privacy! But in general terms I can say that:
Many of my clients are from the private sector:
- The computer and hi-tech sectors (my area of specialization)
- Biotech, nutraceuticals and the food industry
- General industry (everyone needs information on products, markets and competitors...)
- Lawyers and doctors
Others are:

- graduate students doing Ph.Ds
- -- even private inventors!
Some of them only need one or a few searches; others return at regular intervals; still others ask me to keep track of a particular subject on an on-going basis.
Consulting and Teaching Experience:
1992-1995: (Part-time): Courses and lectures on Internet use and computerized
database searching: to librarians and information workers, engineers, industrial and high-tech firms, government agencies, universities and colleges.
1997 - : faculty member, Department of Library and Information Studies, Beit Berl College.
1997 - : faculty member, Haifa University Department of Library and Information Sciences.
1998 - 2002: faculty member, Bar-Ilan University Department of Information
Studies and Librarianship.
1998- : academic adviser and lecturer, professional Information Specialist course, The Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, Department of Continuing Education. (This is a one-year course for university graduates, leading to a professional qualification as information specialists.)
1999 - : consultant to the Ministry of Labor and Social Services on retraining courses and youth courses in the fields of internet use and information retrieval.

Member of the Israel Association for Data Processing.
Founding member of the Israeli branch of ISOC (the Internet Society).
2003 on: Member of the AIIP - Association of Independent Information Professionals
2005: Member of the Technology Committee of the AIIP - the committee's function is to choose the recipient of the annual Technology Award for the new product that most significantly improves our professional abilities or working environment.
